Beginners Training Sessions

Ealing Eagles organise Beginners Training Sessions several times each year (usually starting early January, late April and mid September).

When?

From Wednesday 11th January 2012 for 6 weeks (every Wednesday).  Each session will start at 6:45 and last for 45 minutes.

Where?

We will meet outside the Grange (Warwick road - West side of Ealing Common)

View map of Beginners Session meeting point.

Cost

The sessions are completely free of charge and with no obligation to join after the sessions.

What is involved?

We will start with a warm up followed by some gentle runs for 2-3 minutes, walking for 2 mins. This will be repeated for 20-30 minutes before a cool down/stretch.

Over 6 weeks, we will gradually build this up to running more and walking less.

What is the aim?

The aim is to slowly build up to a 5km run/jog after 6 weeks (without walking this is) and either join the Ealing Eagles on the Gunnersbury 5km Parkrun or the Ealing Eagles 3 miles run on Wednesdays or Mondays.

What do I need to bring?

Just yourselves, your sense of humour and perhaps a drink for during/afterwards.  We do not have any changing or storage facilities so please do not bring any bags along.

Should I register?

Yes.  We need to take some basic information from everyone intending to come along.

Please register as a member (no need to pay the current £5 membership if you would prefer not to) and tick the box for 'interested in beginner's program'.

Are places limited?

Yes – in order to maintain the quality of the sessions we do have a limit on places for the beginners sessions.  Please register early!

Who are the sessions designed for?

Adults who would like to build up to eventually running non-stop for 5km (or more).

If you can already run 5km or more then you will be encouraged to join the main Eagles club runs on a Monday or Wednesday evening at 7:30pm.

Are coaches/leaders qualified?

There will be a minimum of 1 qualified coach or leader at every session.
