The brief history of Ealing Eagles Running Club is outlined below:

January 2013

Country to Capital - 45 mile Ultra
First time an ultra race run with a team from Ealing Eagles - Jose, Flatfoot and Nora

June 2012

London Summer League
Ealing Eagles are invited to participate in the London Summer League.

May 2012

2012/2013 Committee Elected
A new committee is elected to take the club forward through 2012/2013.

April 2012

VLM Cheer Squad
Eagles Cheer Squad turn out in force to celebrate their bumper entry of 15 runners in the London Marathon.

February 2012

Ealing Half Marathon
Ealing Half Marathon is launched with Ealing Eagles providing the organsing committee and many of the volunteers for the event which takes place on Sunday 30th September 2012.

January 2012

Beginners Programme
Ealing Eagles hold their first ever beginners programme, a 6 week course of training sessions lead by Kelvin & Nanda.

October 2011

Gunnersbury parkrun launches
Ealing has it's own parkrun. Arlene assisted by Kelvin & Yan bring parkrun to Ealing

September 2011

England Athletics Affiliation
A bumper turnout of 68 runners attended on Wednesday training to celebrate the news of Affiliation to England Athletics.

August 2011

More and more Eagles.
Attendances continue to climb with 14 runners braving the 10 miler on Sunday, 24 runners attending on a Monday and a phenomenal 49 runners joining in on a Wednesday evening.
Innuagural AGM
Innuagural AGM was held (in a pub of course) and enlarged committee of 6 members was elected.
Eagles do parkrun
parkrun attendanced continue to soar, with 22 runners attending Bushy Park on 6th August and many supporting West London's newest event at Wormwood Scrubs.

July 2011

Summer BBQ
Summer BBQ held at the New Inn, Ealing with runners and their families enjoying the afternoon and evening.

June 2011

Gunnersbury Park 10k
Gunnersbury 10km takes place with promotion & marshals provided by Ealing Eagles to welcome over 220 runners to the park for an enjoyable event.

April 2011

Eagles run marathons
Our first runners completed Marathons, many wearing Ealing Eagles vests.

Wednesday training reached a phenomenal 31 runners,

Eagles who tweet
The club twitter account @ealingeagles starts with the immortal words "We're all going for a drink at the Grove after the run on Wednesday 23rd Feb."
Social Scene
The 2011 growth spurt continued into the social scene with a new Social Calendar. This started with 15 people going along to The Grove for a few post-run drinks.

January 2011

2011 Membership Drive
The club welcomed in the New Year with a number of new runners, breaking the club record attendance with 20 turning out for the first Wednesday training of 2011 followed by 27 in the second week of January for the Club Photograph.

June 2010

New Vests
Ealing Eagles running vests were produced and are available to purchase from the website.

April 2010

Website rankings
The website, ealingeagles.com got to 1st place in google search results for "Ealing Running" and "Ealing Running Club"

March 2010

Monday Night
Monday night training sessions started as a trial to give Eagles another weekly session

February 2010

More Eagles
17 runners, a record number, attended a Wednesday night training session following a very frosty January where the pavements hardly thawed.

January 2010

The first race
Ealing Eagles runners compete in the first race, with Alan, Liz & Paul completing the very hilly Tadworth Ten over Epsom Downs.

October 2009

Association of Running Clubs
Affiliation to the Association of Running Clubs is completed, providing public liability insurance
Eagles take flight
Ealing Eagles was founded by Alan & Liz Brown in October 2009, with the first training session taking place on Wednesday 14th October 2009
