Injury, Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy & Treatment
It's a regrettabe fact that injuries affect most runners at some point in time, often at the most inconvenient time in the build-up to a big race.
Perhaps the most important factor in prevention of injury is adequate stretching. Read more about stretching in Stretching for Runners & Joggers.
Common Running Injuries
Due to the extremely repetitive nature of the sport, running injuries are very specific. The following are the most common running & jogging injuries that you will do well to avoid:
Shin Splits
Achilles Tendonitis
Runners Knee (Iliotibial Band Syndrome)
Plantar Fasciitis
Treatment & Rehabilitation
There are plenty of things that you can do at home to treat running injuries, however it is always wise to consult a doctor and/or physiotherapist for expert opinion.
