Marathon Running
At 26.2 miles, the marathon is regarded as the pinnacle of endurance road running. The marathon term commemorates the fabled run of the Greek soldier Pheidippides, a messenger from the Battle of Marathon (the namesake of the race) to Athens.
Ealing Eagles Running Club usually have a number of members in training for marathons and are able to support you whether you are training for the Virgin London Marathon or any other marathon. Check our the Marathon Training section of the site for more information.

Ealing Eagles Running Club Marathon Roll of Honour
2011
Brighton Marathon: Ronan & Alex
London Marathon: Kelvin, Nanda, Emma & Helen
Edinburgh Marathon: Simon
Pre 2011
London Marathon: Alan & Liz
To qualify for the Roll of Honour you must have completed a marathon while being an active member of Ealing Eagles Running Club, ideally wearing a club vest. The eagle-eyed (pun intended) will realise that Liz & Alan completed the London marathon a few months before Ealing Eagles Running Club was launched (but founding the club has to have some perks).
Please contact us if you're running a marathon in the future and would like a mention. We can even include a link to your sponsorship page if you are raising money for a charity.
