Women in Coaching Alert!

If you are an Eagle lady and are interested in starting a coaching career for free, read on!

We've received an offer from Guy Spencer, The England Athletics coaching officer for North London, offering bursaries to cover 50% of the course costs. Volunteer with the Eagles as well and you could get 100% of the cost covered.

Through the WiC (Women in Coaching) programme, England Athletics want to offer a number of women the opportunity to receive a 50% contribution towards the cost of a coaching qualification. As, increasing the number of female coaches will help to continue growing the number of young people and adults becoming involved in athletics and running.

However, unlike the previous WinC bursary offer, this is not restricted to a single Coaching award. So, is open to all females who would like to start their coaching journey by completing a LiRF or Coaching Assistant Course, or existing coaches looking to further their knowledge by undertaking a CiRF or Athletics Coach qualification, or even an Event Group module.

In order to qualify for one of these (limited number) of bursaries, applicants must meet the following criteria:

To be actively involved in an affiliated club;
Be able to start your coaching qualification within the next 3-6 months; and
Looking to start or develop your coaching knowledge, and be willing to support other coaches.
So, to apply for one of these bursaries - could you please complete the attached application form, and return to Karen Stephanou (kstephanou@englandathletics.org) by 2nd September 2016.
