Farah named for World Indoor Champs
Mo Farah and Helen Clitheroe have been named on the GB teamsheet for the Indoor World Championships in Turkey next month.
Both athletes are listed to contest the 3,000m distance.
Farah, world outdoor gold medallist at 5,000m, has yet to take a world indoor title but won his second European 3,000m indoor gold at Paris last year with a time of 7:53:00.
Preston-based Clitheroe, also took European 3,000m gold in Paris, her first major title at the age of 37.
In form Jessica Ennis will defend her world indoor pentathlon crown in Istanbul, while Dwain Chambers seeks to retain his 60m title.
Holly Bleasdale, who set a new British pole vault record last month, will also board the plane.
UKA Head Coach Charles van Commenee said: “This is a strong team and one that can realistically challenge for medals and make finals.
“There have been some good performances during the indoor season which bodes well for Istanbul and beyond.
"The indoor season gives useful information about how athletes are progressing. It is important to remember the focus still remains on London 2012.”
The championships run from 9-11 March at the Atakoy Athletics Arena.
