Wednesday Training Update & Social Night Reminder
Just a quick Newsletter this week to explain what we are doing tomorrow.
Wednesday Training (3, 5 & 10 mile routes)
This Wednesday 29th June 2011 and on the last Wednesday of July (27th) & August (31st) we will be adding a 10mile option to our normal 3 and 5 mile training routes. You can decide on the day if you want to run the 10mile route - it's likely that the we will be running around 9:00-9:30min/mile, although we will ensure to stay grouped.
Kieran has mapped the 10mile route on his watch, so have a look to familiarise yourself with the route.
As it's likely to be warm tomorrow, please take this into account and consider the following suggestions
- Bring a bottle of water or sports drink (alternatively bring some change to buy a drink from a shop on the way)
- Take your Oyster card in case you decide to take the 65 bus back from Richmond
- Have a calorific lunch and drink plenty of water through the day
We'll want to leave promptly at 7:30 tomorrow and expect to be back on Ealing Green at 9:05-9:15.
Club Social: Wednesday 6th July 2011
Continuing our regular social event on the first Wednesday evening of each month, we'll be meeting at the New Inn, 62 St Mary's Road, Ealing. We'll be meeting there after our run & stretch at around 8:30pm. The pub is a 10min walk or a 5min jog from our start line. View Map
As well as a 5% discount on food & drink during our organised social events, the managers/owners have kindly agreed to let us store bags/clothes during our run, so if you want to take advantage of this, please arrive around 7:20 and tell the bar staff you are part of the Ealing Eagles group.
Final Reminder: Gunnersbury Park 10km (Entry to close Wed 29th June)
As previously announced Ealing Eagles are working with race organisers MCC Promotions Ltd on the Gunnersbury Park 10k race which will take place at 11am on Sunday 3rd July.
Online entries must close on Wednesday 29th June, so please enter this event yourself as soon as you can and then encourage as many friends, family & colleagues (and even friends of friends on facebook) to enter and we'll try to break last year's attendance of 202 runners.
If you're on facebook, you can "like" the Gunnersbury Park 10km Facebook page and follow the race on twitter @Gunnersbury10k
