Sandra - Week 4 & 5
The last two weeks have seen me off schedule a bit due to alternative events/commitments.
Week 4 was great, felt really good after having rested my quad and did 5.5 miles in 55 minutes and 9 miles in 1:24 the following day. Felt I could have done more which left me feeling very positive after the pain from the week before.
The weekend was meant to involve a 10 mile Sunday club run but instead I did an event called Tough Guy in Wolverhampton which was pretty amazing even in the cold - just glad it wasn’t' this weekend with the snow!! It's a run and assault course between 8-10 miles incorporating fire, mud, slaloms, electric shocks, frozen water, underground tunnels and 40ft frames to climb to name but a few of the challenges. I completed the course in 3:29:15 and still have a few bruises to show for my efforts over a week later.
Due to not being able to move properly afterwards, I started week 5 horizontal and stayed that way until Tuesday.
By Wednesday my muscles still ached but I thought I'd try the shorter club run and found it really enjoyable. I felt very strong and fast for the first 3 miles then slowed down to finish the last .7 of a mile in comfort completing the distance in 32 minutes.
Since Wednesday I didn't have a chance to run as I was away for the weekend but weather permitting I'll be out tonight to clock up a few miles with the club run.
This Eagle is still flying high and enjoying it :)
