Tail Runner

Each Wednesday training session we ask for a volunteer to be a "tail runner".  This duty is shared amongst our regular runners so everyone is expected to be a tail runner once or twice per year.  Please let us know if you are willing to be a tail runner for one Wednesday session.

The tail runner runs at the back of the group at the pace of the slowest runner that evening and is very useful for the following reasons:

  • Encourages the beginner runners
  • Ensures that nobody gets left behind or feels too slow
  • Ensures that no runners get lost or take wrong turnings (especially useful for our first time eagles)

The tail runner should bring a mobile phone for emergency contact and ideally wear an Ealing Eagles vest to be easily identified by other runners.
