Although training sessions vary throughout the year, the below shows a sample based on our current schedule (members can find the full details of the sessions in the Eagles Nest).
The club is managed by a committee and has several qualified coaches within the membership. All of them offer their time on a voluntary basis - in fact the club is completely run by volunteers.
We encourage new members or those thinking of joining to start with a club run. Please contact us if you would like information on where we meet for club run.
Monday - Club Run
Choice of a “short” 3.75 miles (6km) or “long” 4.75 miles (7.6km) run around Ealing. Setting off at 7.30pm from central Ealing, both routes have tail-runners and a group cool-down session is held at the end.
Tuesday – Track / Hills
This session varies depending on the season. A programme of sessions may be designed to help build up to specific races or distance targets.
Wednesday - Club Run
Choice of a “short” 3.6 miles (5.8km) or “long” 4.6 miles (7.4km) run around Ealing. Setting off at 7.30pm from central Ealing, both routes have tail-runners and a group cool-down session is held at the end.
Thursday - Intervals/Hills Session
This session varies depending on the season. Again it starts at 7.30pm from locations in central Ealing.
Sunday - 10 Mile Run
10 mile route heading down to Kew Bridge, to Richmond Lock and then back to Ealing. This is a self-led, informal session arranged between members of the club along a very pretty route.
Most weeks on Tuesday and Friday mornings the 'Grumpy Old Men's' 10k at 10am has been attracting men and women of the grumpy and non-grumpy persuasion...this is a very informal, self-led run with a core of regulars.
Other daytime sessions tend to be organised as courses rather than sessions available every week to accommodate the beginners’ programmes and school holidays. Typical courses include Improvers on Mondays at 10am to help people progress from 5k to 10k, Faster 5k on Wednesdays at 10am to help people improve their 5k times and a daytime club run of 5 to 7k on Thursdays at 11am.
