Race Programme

Eagles compete in everything from track sprints to ultra-marathons. Below are the key events, leagues, and races the club participates in throughout the year.

Club Championship

An annual internal competition featuring specific target races ranging from 1 mile to a full marathon.

  • Who it’s for: All members of every ability level (you do not need to run every distance to compete).

  • Why join: It is a fantastic way to track your year-on-year improvement, challenge club records, and enjoy some friendly competition.

Summer League

A series of events held during the warmer months, competing against 8 other London running clubs. It is a great community event and features:

  • Main Race: A 5-mile or 10km run catering to all standards.

  • Tenderfoot Race: A shorter 1.5–2km run perfect for children, those returning from injury, or anyone preferring a shorter distance.

  • Relays: Optional, age-graded 300–400m relays.

  • Awards: Individual trophies are awarded at the end of the year based on your best three performances.

Cross Country

The club participates in two distinct Cross Country leagues: the Met League and a local Sunday League.

  • Who it’s for: Runners of all abilities.

  • How it works: It’s all about team scoring—the higher you place ahead of rival club runners, the more points the Eagles get.

Relays & Marathons

  • Relays: The club enters teams into prestigious relay events throughout the year, most notably the Welsh Castles Relay and the Green Belt Relay around London.

  • London Marathon: As an England Athletics affiliated club, the Eagles receive a designated number of entries for the London Marathon each year, which are distributed to members via a club ballot.

Local Feature Races

  • Ealing Eagles 10k: The club's flagship event. Staged annually in Gunnersbury Park during May since 2011, it continues to grow every year.

  • Ealing Half Marathon (EHM): While not officially organized by the club, the Eagles are heavily involved in the planning and execution of this Autumn race. The club hosts specific training sessions leading up to the event to help runners conquer the infamous Ealing "undulations."

All Races Count!

Every achievement matters. Whether you are tackling the grueling Marathon des Sables, a festive Santa Run, or a Beer Mile, you can submit your results to the Club Race Officer to ensure your efforts are recognized by the community!
