Ealing Eagles is committed to ensuring that all members can participate in club activities in an enjoyable and safe environment.

Club Welfare Officer

The Club Welfare Officer sits on the Eagles committee and provides support and guidance on welfare, wellbeing and safeguarding within the club.

The Welfare and Wellbeing Officer will:

  • Deal with confidential matters that may arise related to athletes and have an understanding and appropriate manner to deal with such matters.

  • Receive, record and pass on to the England Athletics safeguarding team, any concerns relating to the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults.

  • Support the registration of all personnel involved in activities for young people with the club/organisation (DBS checks).

  • Signpost members and parents of Junior members to relevant organisations to support wellbeing and mental health concerns.

  • Provide a safe space for members and parents of Junior members to talk about emotional wellbeing and mental health concerns.

Safeguarding

All children and adults at risk are entitled to a duty of care and to be protected from abuse. Ealing Eagles follow UK athletics policies and procedures in safeguarding children and adults at risk. If you have any concern about a child or vulnerable adult please contact the welfare officer Liz by emailing welfare.eagles@ealingeagles.com.

Codes of Conduct

The UK Athletics (UKA) and the Home Country Athletics Federations (HCAF) Codes of Conduct set out national standards of conduct for all clubs, coaches, officials, volunteers and athletes in the sport.

Every club, club member and anyone undertaking a relevant role must agree to abide by the codes of conduct either when they join a club as part of the club application process, or when they renew their club membership or UKA licence.
