Although it has been a few weeks since I found out that I was running VLM, I still had not managed to put a training plan together by last Sunday evening. Leaving it a bit late I hear you say. Perhaps, but I knew that Monday (the official start day of my training) would be a Rest Day, so I still had plenty of time to figure out a plan. With the help of my Excel Guru friend, aka Heidi Vickery, we managed to work out the plan of all plans by Monday evening. It all looks so beautiful on paper. Simply amazing. 😊 As I was looking forward to getting back into the swing of things after the Xmas break, I found myself at Osterley track on Tuesday evening, running my little socks off. Well, at least it felt that way.
I must admit that since Loch Ness Marathon back in October, my training has not been very specific or often. I simply felt too tired to be running and had a serious lack of motivation, probably because Loch Ness did not work out for me at all as I had hoped. Although I had run my heart out over the summer and trained hard, it just wasn’t to be on the day. Many of you know what I am talking about. I think we have all been there.
Anyway……back to VLM and high hopes of finally getting a sub 04:30 under my belt that is accurately measured. I won’t bore you at this stage with details of training and strategies, so I will leave you with the assurance that with a Marathon plan finally in place, my life has a structure back and the void has been filled. Phew……..thank you running God!
